Pain doesn't always track curve size.
Research into adult scoliosis has shown that pain experienced by patients has no direct correlation with Cobb angle magnitude alone. Postural imbalance — in both the coronal and sagittal plane — has a much higher correlation with pain levels, which is why TechnoSpine treats posture, not just curve size.
A "Posture Type" assessment (Types A–H) identifies the correct patient-specific brace configuration, based on postural evaluation alone, with radiographs used to confirm where available. The pace of improvement varies with spinal rigidity, degree of degenerative change, scoliosis type and age.

Indications for Treatment
- Degenerative idiopathic-onset or adult-onset (de novo) scoliosis
- Pain related to scoliosis
- Poor posture linked to spinal curvature
- A history of progression — worsening Cobb angle, increasing deformity, pain or reduced mobility
Contra-Indications
- Constant, unremitting pain
- Inability to self-fit the brace
- No significant postural deformity (sagittal and coronal imbalance)
